AFFSC Volunteer Opportunities
Help us all become more Fire Safe.
These activities do not take huge amounts of time. Please consider helping on one of these committees. Just send this email.

Fundraising Committee – Our Fundraising Committee objective this year is just to have one food oriented special event. We have guidance and some help from Omo Ranch Fire Safe Council. We just need some volunteers to get this going. Funds raised will help us on critical purchases to support our education-outreach efforts and Pioneer Fire too. 

Grants Committee – We also need some volunteers to reform our Grant Committee from last year, to consider what grant opportunities we should consider to make our community more fire safe. This could be thinning of vegetation along our emergency access roads, for instance, or a shaded fuel break around a critical community or neighborhood.

Outreach Committee – Work with committee developing educational events in 2020. 

Coordinate with CALFIRE Growlersburg Chief about how AFFSC can potentially use their crews for fuel reduction. 

Coordinate with California Conservation Corps about how AFFSC can potentially use their crews for fuel reduction. 

AFFSC Phone - Work with Council Member to develop inexpensive phone option for those without computer access to be able to contact AFFSC. 

Help at Monthly Council Meetings - set up chairs and tables for monthly Council meetings at Pioneer Park Community Hall – 3rd Weds. 

Post Flyers at designated locations for AFFSC events, working with Outreach Committee. 

AFFSC Clothing – Work with Outreach Committee and Custom Embroidery Concepts (Nancy Brandy – office in El Dorado) for developing AFFSC logo shirts and caps. 

AFFSC Outreach Survey – Work with Outreach Committee to finalize community survey, and send out through mails and online.
